ACCELNET, M-series, I-series, NANO and ARGUS - DIGITAL SERVO CONTROLLER FOR DC SUPPLY

The Accelnet servo controllers are the little brothers of the Xenus servo controllers and as such are equally modern digital servo controllers or servo drives / amplifiers - with the difference that they were developed for operation on a DC supply. The voltage range varies from 9Vdc to 60Vdc to 24Vdc to 180Vdc. The Accelnet servo controller series is complemented by the M series, which are available as 3-axes servo controllers or servo drives for 4 axes. The NANO and ARGUS series are specially designed for mobile applications with DC power supply such as vehicles and AGVs with high current requirements, while the I series with a hole in the centre for cable entry is aimed at integration in robot joints.

Copley's servo drives for DC supply are 100% software compatible with the Xenus servo amplifiers, they too are servo controllers that can completely control individual axes with their indexer functionality. Communication with individual commands in ASCII format via the RS-232 interface is possible, as well as pre-programming and storing entire programs and controlling them via inputs.

The servo drives for DC supply are also equipped with a CAN interface as standard (CANopen, DSP402 profile). The new Accelnet Plus, M and Argus servo controllers also offer an optional EtherCAT interface and support various absolute encoders. The connection to these two fieldbus systems and the use of modern absolute encoder technologies such as BiSS B, BiSS C, Hiperface or EnDAT 2.2 opens up new possibilities for automation concepts with distributed intelligence.

In general, the following characteristics can be stated for Copley servo controllers with DC supply:

  • operation at 9 Vdc to 55 Vdc, 20 Vdc to 90 Vdc or 20 Vdc to 180 Vdc (depending on model)
  • currents up to 70A peak
  • versions for single axis and dual-axes (housed or as module), 3-axes or 4-axes as module
  • efficient control: vector control (info vector control )
  • efficient commissioning: CME software with oscilloscope and auto-tuning and auto-phasing
  • easy integration into central control concepts: +/-10V and/or PWM current/velocity specification
  • easy replacement of stepper motor solutions: pulse/direction interface as position command
  • efficient use as single axis controller: powerful indexer via RS232 interface (programs also addressable via I/O) easy integration into distributed control concepts: CANopen (optional CANopen libraries for C++ (Data Sheet CML ) and COM objects (Data Sheet CMO ))

further accessories are available:

  • Resolver-serial converter: with this interface adapter (housed or module), resolver motors can be operated on servo controllers without a resolver interface but with a serial SSI interface; compatible servo controllers are e.g. the Xenus XTL, XSJ, XPL and XEL and the Accelnet ADP, ACJ, BPL and BEL with ARM processor or FPGA: Data Sheet Copley CSR Serial-to-Resolver Converter
  • various CAN interfaces (USB, PCI, PCIe or PC104) with one or two channels (parameterization via CAN possible), see CAN-Interfaces
  • CAN I/O processor for PCB mounting: 8 inputs for CAN address selection, 72 digital I/O, 12 analog inputs,12 PWM outputs, 2 outputs for status LED, RS-232), see CAN-I/O-Module

Do you have an application with higher requirements in terms of environmental conditions (temperature, vibration, shock, etc.)? Copley also offers servo controllers for harsh environmental conditions!

ACCELUS - digital servo amplifier with +/-10V interface or PWM

Like the Accelnet servo controller, the Accelus servo drive is a fully digital servo amplifier for operation on a DC supply voltage - but the functionality is somewhat limited here and the control is limited to speed and current. The command is set via the analog +/-10V interface or via the digital PWM interface. The parameterization is done with the same software as for the Accelnet servo controllers.

  • easy integration into central control concepts
  • operating modes: current or speed control
  • command interface: +/-10V or PWM
  • operation at 20 to 180Vdc (depending on model)
  • currents from 0.7Arms to 8.5Arms continuous
