Brushless external rotor motors for high-performance drones
Drones (UAVs) are unmanned aerial vehicles or aircraft that now play an important role in numerous defense, security, and surveillance applications in highly sensitive areas for armed forces, governments, and security services around the world. The development of modern drones is only possible with high-performance components. The sensitivity of the various possible applications requires the highest level of integrity, precise product testing, and complete transparency in development and manufacturing.
Our partner and motor manufacturer PMW Dynamics has therefore chosen Europe (UK) as the location for the development and production of its powerful and fail-safe motors for the ADM series of drive and lift motors for high-performance drones.
The ADM series drone motors currently under development have the following (preliminary) specifications:
- Nominal torque 2.6 Nm
- Nominal speed 3750 rpm at 48 Vdc
- Outer diameter 90 mm
- Overall height 30 mm
- Weight 285 g
- Brushless with rare earth permanent magnet
- Optimized for direct installation as a drive in drones
- Outrunner for maximum torque density
- Ultra-flat and ultra-light
- Windings optimized for 48 Vdc battery operation, other windings are possible
- Customized designs possible
- Availability Q2/2026
